In 2025, our advocates made a real difference:
Animals: We helped defeat bills that would have expanded animal cruelty loopholes while supporting stronger inspections of commercial pet breeders and animal shelters. We also advanced a statewide study on pet overpopulation, highlighting the need for increased access to low-cost spay and neuter services across Oklahoma.
Reproductive Health: We fought back against harmful legislation that would allow medical providers to deny care to patients and spread health education misinformation in public schools, while helping secure access to contraception and requiring health insurance companies cover additional breast cancer screenings.
Arts & Education: We supported legislation to sustain funding for OETA and joined statewide arts advocacy efforts.
Democracy: We opposed attempts to weaken Oklahoma’s initiative petition process, ensuring citizens keep their constitutional right to propose and vote on laws independent of the Legislature.
These victories show what’s possible when Oklahomans come together. But the challenges ahead are significant: protecting wildlife habitats, stemming the tide of unwanted cats and dogs, reducing teen birth rates, strengthening arts education, and defending the people’s voice in government.

Improving the quality of life for Oklahomans is KPG’s primary vision, seeking to accomplish this through its values of collaboration, respect, education, and stewardship.
